Thora Dolven Balke is an artist and curator. She has exhibited extensively in Norway and internationally in the past years. Her work encompasses both an exploration of image-making through her own artistic practice as well as involvement in the organisation of artistic and curatorial platforms that contribute to the development of other artists’ work and their connection with other cultural forms, such as music and performance. In 2011, she was one of two curators of the biennale Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF) and she co-funded and programmed the artist-run space REKORD in Oslo from 2006 to 2010. In 2016 she was a participant in the Capacete programme in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and since lives and works between there and Oslo, Norway.
