Kaija Kaitavuori is an art historian interested in contemporary art, people and combinations thereof. She has previously held senior roles at the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art and the Finnish National Gallery, working in museum education and institutional development. At present, she is a visiting lecturer at the University of Helsinki and the Aalto University. She received her PhD in 2015 from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. The theses investigated participation in art and is published as "The Participator in Contemporary Art. Art and Social Relationships" (2018) by I.B.Tauris. The scope of her postdoctoral research spans contemporary art and cultural policy.
